| UK based, Australian singing song-seamstress LISA FITZGIBBON has a sound that is both powerfully original and refreshingly personal. Her self-produced, four-album catalogue is a testimony to her passion for words and music. Armed with an acoustic guitar, Lisa is burning fences and building bridges across the UK and throughout Europe dispensing her very real, no-nonsense style of contemporary folk music to audiences of all shapes and sizes. Lisa has worked in the UK, across Europe and in Australia over the past decade. She has forged an independent path throughout her career having played at many prestigious venues and festivals, such as the UK’s Glastonbury Festival and at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. She has worked in the studio along side many established musicians including Rob Hurst (Midnight Oil) and Rick Grossman (The Hoodoo Guru’s), and has shared the stage with artists like Ani Di Franco, The Waifs (also from Australia), Martyn Hayes and Denis Cahil, Arlo Gutherie, Roger McGuinn and Chris Difford (from UK band Squeeze), just to name a few. "Lisa Fitzgibbon is one of the great undiscovered talents amongst this country's singer/songwriters. With passionate, challenging songs, a commanding stage presence and a voice that would grace any stage, this is power folk with a tender heart." - Acoustic Routes "...so confident, yet so vulnerable. Lisa Fitzgibbon puts the POWER back into FOLK!" -The Weekender "When the world finds her she'll be ready." -Time Out "...if you took the sexiness of Charlene Spiteri, the angst of Natalie Merchant and the vocal range of Eddie Reader, you’d have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Lisa Fitzgibbon." -Cora Wade, Wight Rocks

BERNARD HOSKIN
www.bernardhoskin.com This acoustic roots singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Cambridge has combined a diverse range of influences to create a distinctive and original sound which is based upon English songwriting and world music rhythms as well as the more common folk, country and blues styles. His last CD “Days Yet To Come” was notable for including the first English language recording of a song by the great Russian songwriter Vladimir Visotsky who is almost unknown outside his own country but is a hero to the Russian people. This arrangement of the song was produced at the request of the translator and was later included in a compilation of covers of Visotsky songs released by the Visotsky Foundation in Moscow. "exemplary singer-songwriter Bernard Hoskin brings thought provoking songs & flowing, often African-inspired, guitar work." -Acousticity, Colchester venue |
